Cedar is a classic alternative to moth balls. Cedar is sold in attractive blocks of wood. Attractive appearance and scent make this a welcome alternative to most chemicals currently sold. However, cedar is a considerable investment. The price can often be double the price of chemicals. The price of cedar can be controlled by purchasing small portions and using the product in small spaces. This will allow for a cheaper alternative to large blocks of the expensive wood. Cedar is also available in a variety of scents.
